    Why the eyes show signs of ageing first.

    The eyes are often said to be the windows to the soul, but they're also the first place on the face to show signs of ageing.

    The skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of the face. As we age, this delicate skin begins to lose elasticity and collagen, which can lead to wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of ageing. In addition, the muscles around the eyes become weaker, causing the skin to sag and droop.

    Another factor that contributes to ageing around the eyes is the natural process of fat loss. As we age, the fat that provides volume and structure to the face begins to diminish, leading to hollows and shadows around the eyes.

    Sun exposure, smoking, and genetics all play their part in the ageing process. Exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays can damage the skin and accelerate the ageing process.
